Apprenticeship Positions Available at Hull FC

The Hull FC Community Foundation, in partnership with Hull College Group, is looking for four Activity Leader Apprentices to join the official charity arm of Hull FC on a full-time basis from August 2014.

To apply for the positions, candidates must be aged 16-18 and will work towards the Level Two Intermediate Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership.

The successful candidates will undertake a comprehensive programme of on-the-job training, becoming a vital part of the Foundation team with real hands-on experience delivering sporting activities in schools and the wider community.

In addition to completing the education element of the apprenticeship, the Activity Leaders will have added responsibilities of supporting the delivery of sports sessions and education workshops in Primary and Secondary schools.

Furthermore, the Activity Leaders will support the delivery of Foundation programmes such as ‘Hub In Your Community’ on evening and weekends, while also actively developing and leading new community sport initiatives in Hull.

The Hull FC Community Foundation was the first foundation within Rugby League to achieve the Clubmark Gold status, which is the highest status possible. The Foundation has also received the Super League Community Team of the Year, and continues to be an approved member of the Hull Coach Provider Network.

The course lasts for a minimum of 12 months, and incorporates the NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership, the Level Two Diploma in Active Leisure, Functional Skills in Maths and England, and the Level Two Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning.

The Community Foundation is looking for reliable and committed people who are willing to learn, with an interest in rugby league desirable but not essential. In addition to this, applications will only be considered from candidates who do not currently hold the Level Two qualification in Activity Leadership.

Successful candidates will be expected to work for up to 35 hours per week, with payment of up to £93.80 per week available.

To apply, please send your Curriculum Vitae and a one-sided cover letter outlining your suitability for the apprenticeship to Richard Munson via e-mail at Richard.Munson@hullfc.com or by post to Richard Munson, Hull FC, KC Stadium, West Park, Hull, HU3 6HU.

Kind Regards.
