RFL Community Awards take place on Saturday 11th October at Old Trafford

RFL Community Awards

This year’s RFL Community Awards take place on Saturday 11th October at Old Trafford, preceding the Super League Grand Final. The awards are a celebration of the outstanding work across all aspects of the community game including schools, colleges, universities, touch Rugby League and the club game.

Nominations are now open and can be submitted by either post or email – please send to the RFL Community Game Services Team by 31st August. The nomination form can be found by clicking here.

Shortlisted nominees will be announced in early September with winners being revealed on the night of the awards. All shortlisted nominees will receive an invite to the ceremony. The award categories are as follows:

Volunteer of the year
The person who, through their outstanding contribution, ensures the smooth running of your
organisation. This is a person on whom many things depend and who, through their efforts, helps to
grow and develop the game of Rugby League.

Young Volunteer of the Year (Under 25 years on 1st September 2013)
This is a young person who has committed time and effort exemplary to their peers and whose
contribution has helped to grow and develop the game of Rugby League. This award can recognise
innovation that has helped the club to progress off the field.

Coach of the Year
The person whose dedication to coaching has helped the club and players to develop and improve,
whose efforts make the game of Rugby League more enjoyable for others. This award can recognise
year on year improvement.

Children’s Coach of the Year
The person whose efforts help junior players to develop good behaviours, skills and technique and
who creates an environment in which young players can flourish and enjoy their Rugby League
experience. This award can recognise year on year improvement

Groundperson of the Year
The unsung hero who looks after the pitch at the club and through whose efforts the players enjoy
training and playing on a great surface. A person who has shown the commitment to learning and
development needed to be a top groundperson.

Adult Match Official of the Year (18 years or above on 1st September 2013)
The match official who has shown exceptional performance and/or commitment at a community level, and has dedicated time and effort exemplary to all officials.

Young Match Official of the Year (Under 18 years on 1st September 2013)
The young match official who has shown exceptional performance and/or commitment at a community level, and has dedicated time and effort exemplary to all officials.
