About us:
Mini/Midi rugby is played under different rules to senior rugby. These are designed to introduce young players to the game progressively, by introducing new and more complex features of the game as the players develop with age.
The Under 13’s play 15 player contact rugby with contested 8 player scrums and line-outs, at this age kicking is also introduced. The emphasis is very much on enjoyment and team work, although we also aim to win. Just as important, children learn about the camaraderie and the philosophy of rugby, making new friends from a wide range of schools.
We train on Sunday mornings at 10:30 at the Club, on the bottom half of the third team pitch, see the chalk board outside the clubhouse for directions.
We will be playing friendly matches against other club teams, every other week or so. We may also enter some round robin tournaments.
We welcome everybody, and are very keen to see new players, no experience necessary just enthusiasm and commitment!
Anyone interested in trying out rugby is welcome to attend a few sessions with no commitment. Please feel free to contact us if you require further details.
