History

Nairn Mini Rugby Club, also known as Nairn Thunderbolts, is for primary 4 to 7 aged children in Nairn and surrounding areas.

It has been running in its current form for the last 6 seasons, but former players who are now well into their twenties will remember it from its original days.

We meet for training on Sunday mornings between 1030 and 12 noon at Viewfield.

Our emphasis is on having fun playing rugby.

The Club is affiliated to the Scottish Rugby Union through its association with Nairn Academy. All Coaches have the relevant SRU coaching qualifications.

In addition to our regular training sessions the club also participates throughout the year in numerous tournaments and festivals across the Highland region and Moray.

To date, 5 of our players have also been selected as Scotland Mascots, representing the club in both Autumn and 6 Nation internationals at Murrayfield.
