Narborough Under 12's thrash Downham Town Under 12's by 48 runs on Friday evening.

Narborough's tight bowling kept them at the top of the West Norfolk Under 12 League at Downham Town last Friday.

Immaculate dressed Narborough had major help from extras with 87 wides and no balls given away by Downham in amassing a total of 121 for 7 wickets.

Charlie Steeles top scored with 7 runs and Tom Fox scored 6 not out at the end. A very smart direct throw put paid to Mark Still's promising innings and Dillon Walker was unlucky to fall to a very good catch after hooking the ball towards the boundary.

When Downham batted, they faced bowling that gave little away in terms of either extras or free hits. Tom Fox was the most effective, taking 3 wickets for 21 runs off his four overs. Ben King took 2 wickets for 15 runs and Tyler Pavitt, Mark Still and Charlie Steeles also bowled well.

Downham actually scored more off the bat, (44 runs) than Narborough (36 runs) but this highlighted Narborough's ability to bowl straight all the time.

Another good win by 48 runs sees Narborough stay top of the table.

Next week is another tough challenge with Denver visiting Narborough on Friday evening. Weather permitting, coaching is next Tuesday 6.00 pm at the ground
