Narborough lost the toss for the first time this season and were asked by North Runcton to bowl on a track one yard longer than recommended by the ECB.
This resulted in an increase in the number of wides conceded by the Narborough bowlers, the extras amounted to 46.
The Runcton batsmen showed how to run between the wickets and punish the bad ball, 76 runs coming off the first ten overs. Only Ben King bowled with any economy, with 1 wicket for 15 off his 4 overs. The other Narborough bowlers were dealt with more harshly. Charlie Steeles (1 for 27), Mark Still, (0 for 22), Kyran Wyman (2 fror 21) and Tyler Pavitt (0 for 32) conceded off their four overs.
North Runcton's total of 128 for 4 was a big ask for Narborough to reach. Narborough started their innings cautiously, but two early run outs did not help, and at ten overs the score was 33 for two. Things got worse with North Runcton bowler Stains getting a hat trick by clean bowling Mark Stil and then bowling Marcus Law and Dillon Walker, who both unluckily played on.
Only Ben King reached double figures, Narborough finishing on 76 for 7 wickets down, with another high number of extras (47) contributing to the score.
Last game of the season is against Stow at home on Friday 4th July.
Coaching tomorrow at the ground 6 pm to 7.30 pm.
