Moortown 2nds: 53 - Rowntree RUFC: 22

Well, let’s focus on the positives: Trees scored four tries and came back with a bonus point. It had started nicely, with nice weather, good pitch, and good offensive intentions, like one of the first moves in the hosts’ half: a nice overload on the blind side of a scrum, which saw Trees’ winger Will Richards, touch down on the corner of the field. However, Moortown quickly scored a few tries, which allowed them to play serenely. Although Trees kept showing offensive intentions, unlucky offloads and some difficulties in set pieces did not result in any tries.

After half-time oranges, Rowntree kept showing their fighting spirit and scored three more tries: one again through their wing Will Richards and two thanks to the hooker Kieran Laws. A tough afternoon, but with lots of positives to build upon for our next game, against Wetherby at their place, on Saturday 1st October at 15:00. Thank you to all who came to support us, and see you all next week!
