Rained off at Glossop as Netherfield progress

After much deliberation following damp overnight conditions at Glossop it was decided that when the umpire, Rod Buckley arrived, he would conduct a toss of the coin to decide who went through to round 3.

Before the toss both teams agreed that should the LCB have a change of heart on the final date for the round to be completed and allow a game next Sunday the toss would be null and void.

This does seem unlikely, but as Glossop had been amenable to the suggestion from us, we felt it was only common courtesy to suggest that.

Ian Heath, Netherfield Secretary called heads and was advised that that was the correct call, so Netherfield will go on to visit Heyside from the Saddleworth League based between Royton and Shaw in Oldham, so just 10 miles short of the Glossop journey.

Their new Pro who has just arrived is Gerri Snieman, a Namibian, who announced his arrival with a ton and 5 wickets. Look out.
