The Milnthorpe skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. Charlie Nichols and Jack Mallinson opened the attack, and Charlie was soon among the wickets, bowling their nos. 2 and 3. Jack made way for Ben Stafford, who bowled the no. 4 in his first over, and then got the opening bat via a brilliant running catch by Harry Smith. Meanwhile, Josh Shorrock had taken over from Charlie, and, in a 7 over spell, picked up 3 wickets for only 17 runs. There were 3 overs each from Harry Smith and Neil McDonnell, and Pete Atkinson bowled 6 overs, 1 for 12. Finally, Charlie returned to oust the last two batters, finishing with 4 for 22.
After tea, Craig Dixon opened with Harry Smith, and the senior man soon had the score moving along, with 20 odd on the board in no time, before being bowled by Ryan Heddle. Harry was then joined by Charlie, and these two batted nicely until Harry departed in the 10th over. Mick came in at four and nurdled a few ones and twos, while Charlie really got into his stride, pulling and driving majestically to race past his 50, and finished on 69no, as Netherfield crossed the winning line.
