New Brighton Villa are delighted to announce the signing of former striker Paul Rambaldi. Rambo joins us from WNL Division 1 rivals Rhydymwyn, where he had been a thorn in our side whenever he returned to the Estadio in recent years. Starting his adult footballing career with NBV, Rambo had spells with Buckley & Penyfford before returning to the Estadio for a 2nd time. After his 2nd stint, he also spent time at Argoed United, MBNA FC & most recently plied his trade at Rhydymwyn.
Despite an upturn in fortunes towards Christmas time & late goals aplenty, with Acrefair's unfortunate withdrawal from the division we have scored the 3rd least amount of goals - a figure we need to improve upon if we want to finish higher up the table. Rambo is your typical number 9 with a eye for goal. He's a set piece specialist with a great first touch which gives himself half a yard straight away.
Manager Dave Roberts had this to say on the signing, "having played with & against Ram in the past, his qualities are for all to see. With Kal Pierce rejoining Buckley I felt we were a little light up top with only Grant as a recognised out & out striker so bringing Ram in is a no brainer as he fills the void perfectly & is another superb option going forward".
We hope that he can link up with the attacking quality we currently have at the club to help us move up the table in a tight division. He goes straight in to the squad to play Castell Alun Colts away on Saturday & we hope it is 3rd time lucky as he pulls on a Yellow shirt once again!
Welcome to the Estadio de Mark Lopez!
