Prolific marksman returns for a second spell!

A massive coup for the club
- Dave Roberts

New Brighton Villa are delighted to announce the signing of former striker Danny Barlow from WNL Premier Division leaders Brickfield Rangers. It is a massive statement of intent from the club to secure the services of a quality player such as Barlow to compliment the young quality individuals we have at the club. Like Rambo, he started his adult footballing career with NBV, before going on to play for FC Nomads, Penyffordd, Argoed United, Hawarden Rangers, Mold Alexandra and his most recent club Brickfield Rangers.

Linking up with Rambo once again and bolstering our attacking options, Barlow is a well known prolific marksman around North Wales who's pace, energy and work rate off the ball help make him one of the deadliest finishers in the WNL when he gets a sniff at goal. That energy and work rate make him a great addition to the squad in terms of pressing teams high up the pitch and creating chances. Although he only featured 6 times for Brickfield this season, he scored a hat trick on his competitive debut and was named man of the match. Having seen his season cut short somewhat with work commitments amongst other things, it was great to hear his enthusiasm to come and try a new challenge in a very competitive WNL Division 1.

Manager Dave Roberts had this to say on the signing, "I'm absolutely delighted to welcome Danny to the club. He is another player I've had the pleasure of playing alongside and I'm excited to work with him again and cannot wait for the goals that he will inevitably score from the chances we create as a team. I consider this a massive coup for the club and I'm confident Danny can fire in the goals to help us climb the table!".

We cannot wait to see Barlow in a Yellow shirt scoring goals, hopefully beginning this Saturday in our league cup quarter final versus Llangollen Town! We would like to thank Brickfield Rangers for their cooperation with the transfer and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season in their promotion push.

Welcome to the Estadio de Mark Lopez!
