AGM Report

he AGM of Newent CC was held at Three Ashes on Thursday 12 October. The meeting was the opportunity for members to review the 2017 season and shape things for the coming year.

In the absence of Richard Martin Laurence Hull chaired the meeting for the first part and paid tribute to Richard and what he had achieved over the past 5 years. Richard stood down as Chairman due to enable him to focus on regaining full health. Richard, however, will still be a familiar face at the club and will continue to support its development.

There was an opportunity for the membership to quiz the officers and receive reports from the captains.

Treasurer – Andrew Brookes
Club Welfare – Tracy Pitcher

A number of other committee positions will be ratified at the first committee meeting in November.

Alex Gray was reelected 1st XI captain, while a decision on the captains of the 2nd and 3rd XI’s was deferred until the Spring, when we will know the impact of impending GFCL rule changes on our teams.

Membership rates for 2018 season were agreed by the meeting, which can be seen on the attached document.
