After disappointment in the divisional cup and a loss in the league to Neston Nomads, Ferry knew another cup run could save their season, next up was Victoria Colts division four strugglers came to New Ferry earlier in the season to be thrashed 7-1 in the Tony Houlihan cup game, this time it was the Dave Tacy cup with Ferry excited about the prospect of being in another semi, Colts who to be fair turned up with an older and wiser looking squad, Ferry started the game on top just lacking the killer instinct which hasn't been a problem this season with all the firepower we have. The break came on 40 minutes Paul Leay finding in form Kev Walker to slot home at the back post, Colts parked the bus looking for a counter which didn't happen Ferry sealed it off when Kev Walker found Joe Mogayle on the hour mark.

Totally different Colts team, they defended very well from me their keeper MOM due to the saves he pulled off to keep them in it, them lads will be the players that most teams will want to sign over the next few years, us on the other hand did very well there were times when we could have got frustrated but we never we stayed patient and relaxed which is great, sometimes these types of games can be banana skins but we are comfortably through, disappointing that FC Ridger have folded but thats progression in another cup which is great! Hopefully we can give more to Neston this week as they are beatable, we just need to believe that we can beat them.
