Safeguarding Children is something we take very seriously at the club and we aim to protect all our youth players.
As a FA Charter Standard Community Club, every NPTFC Manager or Coach must have a valid DBS check, current Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid Certificates, and at least one person per team must have a Level 1 coaching qualification though we do aspire for every coach to be Level 1 trained.
We have also extended the DBS checks to Team Admins and Committee members. We believe strongly that this not only protects our young players but also enables our coaching staff and volunteers to create a safe environment for the children we look after.
We have held FA Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid courses at the club, which have been attended by new and existing coaches. Our Compliance Officer, Michelle Davey, regularly checks to see which coaches need to update their training, informs the coaches and books the relevant courses. If there are sufficient numbers then Michelle will arrange for the necessary courses to take place at the club.
Our Club Welfare Officer is Angela Skinner. Should you have any concerns now or in the future or need any further guidance, our Club Welfare Officer is there to help and address any issues - and if needed to escalate or involve the relevant authorities.
