Former Newport Pagnell Town Reserves manager David Ashcroft:
"So another managerial change is happening in the UCL... must has been over 50 management changes this year but this one is for all the right reasons.
We’ve had a tremendous season coming 4th (should have probably won it but massively chocked at the end) and also making it to the semi finals of the county cup which is predominantly step 6 clubs.
I’m really proud of the achievements of the reserves over the last couple of years and I would like to thank all the players, Claire, Ade, Tracey, Nick and all the commitee at Newport along with Mr Lynch the 1st team legend. Couldn’t have asked to work with a better 1st team manager. A special thanks to my Assistant Kev Ealing who has been an absolute legend and we would have not had the success without him. Also a big thanks to Natalie Church who made such a difference this year with her abuse at training. The lads have never been fitter. Sally up!!!!!
I’m having a year out of managing but joining the committee at Newport to continue our progress of attracting the best youth to the club and helping them progress through to the reserves and then hopefully onto the 1st team.
I’m over the moon we’ve managed to snap up Darren Clarke, I recommended him to Olney when that position came up and he has done wonders for them in the closing games but most importantly he’s done a fantastic job with the u15’s at Newport in the EJA league and winning the county cup.
Ben Snusher and Kev Ealing will be joining as apart of the coaching. Hopefully Natalie Church will also continue in her role as well.
Really looking forward to see what they will achieve this coming season and look forward to having a break and working behind the scenes to help really push the whole club further forward and onto step 4."
