Hats off to Daventry because they deserved to come away with the 3 point

Newport Pagnell Town manager Darren Lynch on their 3-1 loss against Daventry:
"Out worked & out thought are not usually words I word use when writing a match report involving a team I manage but thats exactly what happened last night, hats off to Daventry because they deserved to come away with the 3 points and I wish them all the best for the season under Parky & Kingy’s management, but I have to look at my team’s performance and it’s not good enough.
We took the lead through a Josh Winters header after 5 mins and from then on took our foot off the pedal and allowed them to ease themselves back into the game, and we conceded some poor goals which on our part the second particularly as it was a free header from a set play 6 yards out!
We all need to look at what went wrong as a team and individually quickly, as we have hard games coming up and if we perform like that again in those then our season will take a massive turn for the worst!"
