Newport Pagnells Daren Dykes on their 1-0 loss against Wisbech:

Newport Pagnells Daren Dykes on their 1-0 loss against Wisbech:

"Well talk about getting brought down back to earth with a bang! Losing in the manner we did hurts more than the result itself!
To make matters worse Nirvana slipped up along with Kempston drawing at home. A win would of put us right in the mix.
A few good results & performances does not give you the right to just turn up & win the next game, however bad a run Wisbech are having. As anyone will tell you, the easy bit is getting up the top, the hard bit is staying there.
The first 25 minutes we couldn't get into the game at all which is very unusual for us as we normally start very well. I could tell in the warm up we wouldn't be at the races & getting a man sent off after half hour & 1-0 down doesn't make it any easier. I will give the lads a small amount of credit for the way we dug in & worked in the second half. We also had 2 cracking chances to be level but missed. The defence did their job & I'm sure they along with us on the side will be questioning the amount of chances we keep missing. Even with 10 men & not playing great we still could of won that game.
Credit where is due, Wisbech deserve the win & in my opinion wont be where they are in the league for long.
We have no midweek game. Time to show some guts because we certainly left them at home yesterday. I along with Lynchy trust these boys otherwise they wouldn't be at the club so lets see how we react next week along with 2 training sessions."
