Swans on Song Heading into Vase Clash

5 years ago By Ben Sharpe

Swans prepare for FA Vase clash at Hillingdon Borough this weekend on the back of a dramatic victory over Wellingborough on Tuesday.

Newport Pagnell Town will travel to Hillingdon Borough on Saturday to play in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Vase riding the crest of a wave after a dramatic Tuesday night at Willen Road.

The Swans hosted Wellingborough Town in a Premier Division tie looking to get their first win of the campaign after being agonisingly unlucky in previous games. The vastly improving Swans team came out 1-0 winners after a dominant display against the Doughboys with a dramatic last-touch-of the-game winner from big defender Derek Brown.

It was a thoroughly deserved win as the Swans piled on the pressure and refused to lay down as they kept taking the game to the Northamptonshire outfit. With staunch defending and fluid, creative attacking play, the Swans will now look to build on that result.

Hillingdon Borough await on Saturday as attention shifts to the FA Vase. The Middlesex outfit play in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division and safely despatched Bedford 6-0 in the previous round. Their league form shows 4 wins and 3 losses.

It all points to it being a great game and a good day on Saturday as the weather is set to be fine. Come along and witness Swans football 'On the road' and cheer on the lads as they aim to progress in the competition.

Come on you Swans!
