Code of Conduct

Panther Code

General Code

I am part of Newsome Panthers because:

a) I believe that the purpose of the club is to allow young players to enjoy Rugby

League and develop to the best of their personal ability.

b) I can make a contribution however small, towards a successful and evolving club.

c) I am willing to act as a representative for the club at all times.

d) I will do everything I can to support, publicise and develop Newsome Panthers.

Players Code

I am a Panther because I want to be:

a) A skilled rugby player.

b) A sporting athlete.

c) A valuable part of the team/club

To achieve this, I must:

a) Listen and learn

b) Respect the opposition.

c) Abide by the official��™s decisions without question.

d) Behave with dignity and self-control, even when provoked.

e) Remember that I must behave maturely and sensibly on the field, during training and at social events, which have been organised for my benefit.

If I am not prepared to follow this code, I should not expect to remain part of the club.

Panther Parent/Guardian Code:

I bring my son/daughter to Newsome Panthers because;

a) I want him/her to learn the skills of Rugby League.

b) I want him/her to enjoy playing rugby.

c) I want him/her to learn how to be part of a team.

d) I want to support the aims of the club

To do this I need to;

a) Give positive encouragement and support my child at all times.

b) Accompany my child to matches/training/social events or arrange supervision by another adult.

c) Teach him/her to have a sporting attitude to his/her teammates, the opposition and officials.

d) Give any practical support I can, however small.

Panther Supporter Code:
I take part in club activities because:

I want to appreciate young player��™s developing talent.

To do this, I must always:

a) Encourage players to play by the rules.

b) Respect the official��™s decision.

c) Condemn violence in any form both verbal and physical.

d) Show appreciation for sporting achievement.

I must never:

a) Laugh at a player for making a mistake.

b) Abuse the official(s).

c) Encourage players to be violent.

d) Use abusive language in front of young players.

Panther Coaches Code

I am a Panther coach because:

a) I want to pass on my skills and knowledge of the game to younger players in my team.

b) To encourage a sporting attitude in my players.

To achieve this, I must:

a) Teach my players the BARLA rules appropriate to their age level.

b) To provide regular, structured training sessions and effective game plans.

c) Provide positive support on match days and organise cover for my team if I cannot be there.

d) Create an environment in which young players enjoy learning the skills of rugby.

e) As a coach, the well being of the players is my responsibility, as defined by BARLA rules
