A tough game was made a lot harder with Newton Abbot missing nine regular players. This meant they started the match with just fourteen, and one of those shouldn't have been playing due to injury. Despite this the All Whites put up a brave fight. They scored the first try, and only found themselves 14-5 down at half time. The second half started poorly on a very sticky pitch when injury reduced the numbers further to thirteen. With Honiton able to bring on plenty of fresh legs, this proved to be too big a hurdle for the All Whites to overcome. They lost the game 38-5 but showed some real charecter to continue battling till the end.
