New 2019 captains, John Anthony, Richard Smout and Jonathon Davies will have to wait for their first games to lead their players out on the pitch as bad weather stops season openers against Ellesmere CC and Whitchurch CC.

The First XI were up to face Ellesmere First XI, but a Friday morning call, saw Ellesmere cancel the game due to unsafe playing conditions. The First XI will have to wait until next week to face Bridgnorth to get their season up and going.

The Second XI were to come up against Whitchurch Second XI, but a pitch inspection from captain Richard Smout saw the game being cancelled due to bad weather and more rain scheduled throughout the day. They face local rivals Montgomery nect Saturday to get their 2019 campaign underway.
