Ngakawau Rugby Club was founded in 1916 and is still going strong,
-Ngakawau have had dominant periods as champions in Buller Senior Club Rugby History.
-Winning the SENIOR SHIELD 21 times in the Clubs 94 year History of the Club.
-Ngakawau's impressive run claimed 7 consecutive titles from 1974-80 and this is also one of the best runs of consecutive titles in New Zealand club rugby history.
