Thanks to all the hard work of coaches Dave Best, Jo Edwards, and Matt Sharp, the Norbury Girls' teams have been storming from strength to strength this season!!!
Dave and Jo have been coaching the under 13s Girls, and the team have celebrated 5 back-to-back wins!!!
This despite all the recent wet weather and cancellations!!!
A lot of our Under 13S Girls will be too old to play IN THE Under 13 next season, which makes it even more important that the supply of fresh, new, younger players grows and grows.....
This has been happening, thanks to a lot of hard work from Dave Best and Matt Sharp, in their primary schools where they visit to coach.
Everyone else in the team - PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS AT SCHOOL, AND THEIR SISTERS!!! THAT WE WANT THEM TO TRY LACROSSE AT NORBURY!!!! THEY, TOO, CAN BE PART OF THE GROWING POPULARITY OF GIRLS' LACROSSE, AND PLAY FOR A SUCCESSFUL AND GROWING CLUB!!!!
Meanwhile, the Under 10s and Under 8s tournament, hosted by Norbury, at the Bramhall Hockey all-weather astro pitches, yesterday, 16th February, saw six teams in total play for Norbury!!!!! Including nearly 2 teams of girl recruits!!!!! WOWWWWWW!!!!! Keep up the good work, everyone!!! and let's push and train hard, so that we have a bumper new squad, between now and September, when the next season starts for real.....
This year, Norbury Under 15 girls have been playing in a joint team with Cheadle Under 15 girls.... BUT next season, Norbury and Cheadle will be playing against each other, in their own right, at Under 15 level......!!!
We should have a strong basis to build on, as 3 of our players - Katie, Lucie B, and Charlotte have just played in the County Under 15s tournament, for Cheshire, at Queen Margaret's School in York. They played for the B team, and came second out of 4 teams, beating Lancashire, and Shropshire, and only losing to Yorkshire. In addition, Olivia and Lucy W have been training with the Cheshire Academy, as reserves for the Under 15s squads, and a couple of other players narrowly missed out on selection, on the trials days in the autumn.... Things look very promising!!! :)
