We all know the adage that without a referee there is no game and for those of you who are contemplating a move into refereeing there is a referee training course coming up at Northampton Casuals.

More referees are needed to cover the matches that are needed to be covered at Society level and without new referees coming on-board the issue of too many matches and too few active referees will arise.

Not everyone has the aptitude or ability (or even the desire) to become the next Wayne Barnes or Nigel Owens however becoming a referee is the best way to keep engaged in the game and continue to enjoy our great game and mix with the rugby family across the East Midlands.

For those who do take the plunge and go onto to join the EMRURS we will support you in taking up the whistle and in your first season we offer free subs and free kit.

Don’t forget however that referees are required at club level to cover those matches which Referees society can't supply referees for when having qualified club referees will be an added bonus.
