Squad; Elliott & Lewis Anderson, George Briddon, William Charter, George Dart, Jack Herring, Callum Kerr, Zak Kitchen, Glen Middleton, Joseph Pyke, Jayden Stanford, Ross Tarlton, Luke Vincent & Joshua White

Our earlier tie with Bugbrooke at their ground had proved to be a close affair, and so was this return fixture at Ashton.

After the slightly disappointing performance the week prior at Saints, the boys were much more fired up and on their game.

The first game got off to a slow start but it soon became obvious that our front three of Jack H, Callum and Joseph were stronger than their opposite numbers. A number of scrums and lineouts were won “against the head” which gave Glen at scrum-half plenty to work with. Once the backs got into their stride we were able to use the space and run out 6-3 winners. Scoring for Mens Own were Joseph, Zak, Glen(2) and Ross(2)

For the second game we made five changes, which ordinarily, we might have expected to unsettle the side. But to our delight the boys set about the task with just as much verve. Strong running all round and solid tackling kept the opposition to 2 tries whilst the Own ran in 9! Scorers were Ross, Glen(4) and Jack H (4).

WELL DONE BOYS!!

Thanks to everyone from Bugbrooke.

MAN OF THE MATCH WAS JACK HERRING - WELL DONE JACK!!
