A continual stream of Westwood injuries, some poor refereeing and M.O. taking a lot of wrong options resulted in a very lack lustre, disjointed game.

The Mens Own players found it easy to run through the Westwood defence but this resulted in far too much individual play with poor support play and a lot of loose passing.

The weakness of the Westwood props made the scrummaging very poor and the referee choose to give several penalties against The Own for an early push when in reality Westwood looked to be backing away. The referee didn't seem to know much about the art of scrummaging.

First half tries 2 Steve Ennew, 1 Stuart Brown and 2 conversions by Mark Newton led to a half time score of 0-19.

The second half was a repeat of the first with 3 tries coming from Gary Haynes, Ben Briddon and Matt Brace. Brace added 2 conversions.

An interception resulted in Westwood getting a try for their only points of the match to give a final score of 5-38 giving Mens Own a bonus point win.
