Welcome to the NB Colts 2001 ESSDA team pages!
The new season will start on 4th March for the North Berwick Colts 2001 (11s) ESSDA team.
This season the team are taking part in the East of Scotland (ESSDA) 7-a-side league Maradona Division, on Sundays. The longer-term aim is to have a team ready for 11 a sides in July 2013, so we are introducing all players to some degree of ESSDA level football this season.
Players are currently ranked in 4 sets on ability and selection will be made for 4 weeks at a time on a rota, with a bias towards ESSDA selection for those in the top 2 sets. After 4 weeks, we will reassess what children have changed in the rankings and select for the following 4 weeks. We will do this one more time, in mid-May, before we break for the summer in late June 2012.
Please note that taking children to and from matches is the responsibility of parents.
Shinpads and appropriate footwear (boots, basically) are essential for games and training, with "astro boots" for the astroturf. Metal studs are not suitable for 3G or 4G surfaces such as at WD in Haddington.
For games, black shorts and socks are preferred if at all possible - tops will be provided.
