U12s Well-Matched Against Kingswood
Four Competitive Quarters Played
North Bristol U12s welcomed Kingswood to The Meadow on Sunday and were pleased to play on a full-sized U12s pitch, marked up on the U13s pitch who were away at Clevedon.
North Bristol had 23 players available and they were split into two evenly matched squads to take on Kingswood squad who also had good numbers and four quarters of fifteen minutes were able to be played.
The game was highly competitive and there was some excellent play from both teams. Kinsgwood with their settled positions looked dangerous but North Bristol's overall team work shone through. North Bristol, still not playing with any positional focus for players at U12s as stated in the recent RFU Age Group Code of Practice and in the U12s laws worked hard throughout, but were guilty of ball watching too many times in the early exchanges. There was some excellent defence on show from Evan. Max and Jack and when North Bristol had the ball they looked dangerous. None more so than Morgan who sprinted and spun his way to four tries during the morning.
Leon gave a great pass into space for the supporting George P for a good try and Bobby snatched the ball away from a tackled Kingswood player to race in from half way. Will powered his way for an early try and Louie was on hand to claim a try when his run was driven over by his supporting team mates. A good break by Bobby, passed to Diego went to close to the try line but Ted was on hand to snipe away from the ruck to score a good team try. Ellis battered his way through tacklers and was very strong at the breakdown and he almost earned himself a try after a powerful surge but was denied by a good Kingswood tackle. New to the team this year, Gene, scored his first try for the team which was great to see.
It was a great mornings rugby which kept all of the supporters thoroughly entertained.
Tries - Morgan (4), Leon (3), Bobby, Gene, George P, Louie, Ted Will
