Following a meeting of the Committee of Redditch Ravens Rugby League on Wednesday 24th February 2010, a number of decisions were agreed.
From 1st March 2010, the Club would be rebranded as "North East Worcestershire Ravens Rugby League" (NEW Ravens RL). The reason for this rebranding was to re-launch the Club in an area which includes a number of towns thereby increasing the interest in the Club and Rugby League. In addition, the Club agreed an arrangement with Bromsgrove R.F.C. for the use of facilities at Finstall Park. This will include the use of training facilities, playing pitches as well social facilities.
The senior side had a difficult season and finished bottom of the league. The junior section however went from strength to strength with teams competing in the under 14 and under 16 leagues. The under 14's progressed well during the season with a number of players gaining representative honours. The under 16 team finished second in the league and reached the Grand Final where they lost to a more experienced Birmingham Bulldogs team.
In addition, a number of the under 16's were invited to join the Regional Player Development Centre where they have received top quality coaching.
In the middle of the season, the Ravens hosted the second Kukri Midlands Origin matches at Finstall Park. A superb day saw a massive crowd enjoy a festival of Rugby League which was televised by SKY Sports 'Boots 'n' All' programme.
