They say "New Year new start" but some things don't change. As soon as i pulled into the ground on Saturday his first words were, "Hope you brought some with you (MONEY), and best try one of you fags". Things didn't change much in the bar after the game, he wouldn't talk with anyone until he had divulged three bowls of stew and only then it was to mutter, "gettin um in then are yuh"! Yes it's our Gary, still the same as ever.
So to the game. Once again it was good to see so many young players on both sides, with a decent crowd on the line. Both teams had their fair share of the ball and the result could have gone either way but Cote hung on to win 13-11.
Once the game was over it was into the bar for a few beers with Messrs "Tank" and Mr Danks of whom the latter had been "miked-up" to the man in the middle during the game, no doubt to give some sound advice, although not being aware that the ref had removed the batteries before leaving the dressing room.
This week I'm off to the "Mem" at tuffley avenue for the local derby between Cryptians and Blues and to have a pint with "me old mate Lewie". Now he's tighter than Gary and we all now how bad he is, i best take plenty of money unless any of you would like to join me.
