Longford lane was my destination for a Glos premier game with Tewkesbury being the visitors.Although it was a cold afternoon i was well wrapped up in my new COMBINATION COAT which you will all see in due course. (cost £40) The visitors laid their stall out very early, crossing for a try in the first few minutes, but this only helped spur the Levens pack into action who almost went over after a 40 meter "catch and drive" from a line-out. Unfortunately for the home side this was as good as it got although they did cross the line once, Tewkesbury finished up worthy winners, even with old stagers Rudgie and Caler on display, the visitors were always in control.
Although Rudgie had a bad day in the field, he is doing better in the bar afterwards and has now realised that to get a starting place you must by the manager some beer which he duly did although this cannot be said for his side kick Caler who's hands seem to be stitched in his pocket. I also thought a one stage i heard Colin Rose offer to buy me a pint, but my wife Heather has said recently that i have been imagining things and i think she could be right!
This Saturday I'm off to Spartans with the Badgers of Brockwoth being the visitors. Obviously I'll need some cash this week as there's not much chance of Gary buying any beer!
cheers Dave
