Chalgrove 0 – 4 North Leigh
And The Run Goes ON.......................
Without being at their best North still had more fire power than Chalgrove, the first 15 minutes was a little disjointed with neither side having the upper hand. North’s back four looked more solid, Jordan Cross & Ollie Jones got an early grip on the Chalgrove strike force, which allowed few attempts on goal throughout the game. On the fifteen minute mark North opened the scoring, strikers Tom Weedon and Steve Dobson combining well with the latter drilling the ball home confidently. Around ten minutes later the pair linked up well again for the second, again Steve Dobson finishing well after being put clear by Tom Weedon. North had chances to increase their lead bore the break, but failed to take any of them.
Into the second period thing didn't improve much until late on, with Chalgrove tiring and North finding their passing game. Liam Hare & James Turner were now prompting play through the midfield and chances started to be created, though it wasn't until the 75th minute that North added their third. The goal was of real quality, a lovely flowing passage play which saw a neat ball played out to Adam Burnham who fired in low firm ball across the 6 yard box allowing an alert Steve Dobson to fire home from close range to complete a fine ha-trick. Further glorious chances came, with Adam Burnham, Tom Weedon and James Turner all guilty of missing decent chances when well placed. North finally put the game to bed with 10 minutes remaining, Will Vandenberghe finishing with a great strike from around 20 yards, giving the Chalgrove keeper no chance as the ball flew in off the inside of the post.
