North Leigh 1 - 2 Bishops Cleeve A number of missed chances by the home side handed the game to a resilient Bishops Cleeve team. Three times in the first 12 minutes Morgan Williams playing up front in a striking role was through on goal but was thwarted each time by a saving defenders tackle or the keeper blocking the shot. Cleeve who had few chances in the opening spell took the lead on 23 mins. A corner was half cleared out to the right hand side of the box where Cleeve's striker Carl Brown hit an unstoppable volley through a crowd of players into the far corner to put the visitors one up. The Yellows hit back immediately and were unlucky to see Brian Bowles put clear shoot just wide when a centre to better placed colleagues was a better option. However the home side were level just before half time after Williams on another clear break was brought down by the last man defender in the box and although Stuart Hole converted the penalty to level the scores, the crowd were left wondering why the Cleeve defender only received a caution and not his marching orders. HT: North Leigh 1 - 1 Bishops Cleeve After the break on 50 mins it was Leigh's turn to conceed a penalty after Andy Caton was adjudged to have handled in the box. Although Jake Lee scored from the spot to put Cleeve back in front, even this goal caused controversy as the home team claimed Leigh keeper Sam Warrell wasn't ready when the kick was taken. The Yellows however after this setback battled on and sought an equaliser. On 63 mins they thought they had succeeded when Elliot Osborne-Ricketts was chopped down in the box and yet another penalty was awarded.Hole's kick although struck with power and direction was unlucky as it hit the underside of the bar and cannoned off to safety and cleared. Shortly after on 65 mins another 1 on 1 chance for Williams was blocked by Cleeve keeper James Nortel and although Leigh exerted further pressure right up to the final whistle, the visitors held on to take the points.
