North Leigh 6 - 0 Thame United
North Leigh of the Evo Stik Southern League entertained Thame United of the Hellenic League Premier Division and the gap in steps between the two clubs was abundantly obvious as the home side cruised into a 3 nil lead by half time and doubled their tally in the second half. Never really troubled by Thame it was really a question of when would the Yellows score and how many.
After a Jimmy Deabill header on 4 mins that drifted wide and a John Mills shot was blocked by a defender shortly after, it wasn't until the 17th minute that the Millers opened their account. This came courtesy of a Stuart Hole penalty following a trip in the box on Deabill. With the Millers flooding forward on the Thame goal at every opportunity, Mills added a second on 24 mins steering a hot wide of ex Yellows Keeper Lee Farrow after good work by Wayne Turk
Deabill scored goal number three on 35 mins as he rose at the far post and headed in a chipped cross from the right delivered by Jon Else
HT: North Leigh 3 - 0 Thame United
In the second half Thame raised their game and tried to press forward more.
However chances for the home side were numerous as efforts by Else and Mills were either saved or wide. It wasn't until the 65th minute that Mills beat a couple of defenders and passed the ball into the net past a helpless Farrow.
Deabill added a fifth three minutes later clipping a ball past the keeper into the far corner from 12 yds.
The best goal of the game came late on on 86 mins when Michael Hopkins picked up the ball in his own half and went on a mazzy run down the centre past a couple of defenders. He passed to Lewis Coyle wide right who in turn cut inside a defender and unleashed a piledriver of a shot from 15 yds that flew past Farrow into the far corner for goal No 6.
