North Leigh Fight Back To Earn A Point
Larkhall dominate possession but are unable to take all three points at Eynsham Park
North Leigh 1 – 1 Larkhall Athletic
Both teams came into the game safe from relegation and not in contention for a play-off place so little to play for by either team. For Leigh however this was their eighth game in the last 16 days and the weariness in their legs was apparent. The corner count of 8 corners to the visitors to 1 to the home side showed their superiority in a one-sided first half. However despite their dominance Larkhall could not break down a solid home back line led by skipper Elliott Keightley and ably assisted by Ross Grimshaw in goal.
Alex Lambert playing in a wide right position for Larkhall had a number of chances but Grimshaw in goal pulled off a number of excellent saves. Indeed Leigh had a couple of chances themselves after penetrating runs by Josh Thomas from midfield.

The second half saw similar early superiority and on 50 minutes Larkhall scored a quality goal as midfielder Matt Britton hit a right foot shot from just outside the box that gave Grimshaw no chance.
However going a goal down seemed to galvanise Leigh and on 67 minutes George Seacole, on as a substitute, saw his shot from close range well saved by Sean Semmens in goal for Larkhall.
Although Leigh looked more likely to score the visitors still dominated possession with wide player Aysa Corrick a constant threat.
However in the final 10 minutes Leigh pushed forward and a speculative shot from distance on 84 minutes by Leigh’s Darryll Harris took a wicked deflection that completely wrong footed Semmens in goal and rolled past him for an unlikely equaliser.
