Clayton too strong for under 13's
The end of the under 13' cricket 2012 season. Or was it four seasons? The pre season, the first matches, the monsoon season, and the final matches.
NHTCC batted first and never really got going. MAX M had 11, MAX G 10 and Qasim had 10 not out, finishing with a low powerful 4 to mid wicket. Tom K.supported Qasim with a risk-free 3 not out.
Tilly opened the bowling and removed J Allen first ball. The ball of good length started on leg and middle and took the top of off and middle. Allen's opening partner, H Moore decided that agression was called for, attacking both bowlers with gusto. It couldn't last and Tilly bowled him with a perfect off-cutter. But not before he had struck a spirited 18. Tilly had 2 for 18 in 4 aggressive overs. She was NHTCC player of the match. Tom K was fielder of the night with another quality performance.
Max G replaced Tilly and bowled a faultless wicket maiden. but it was too late. And our team which included 6 under 11's was beaten but not down-hearted.
As we were leaving the ground Paul Robertshaw and I were stopped by the Clayton umpire, who complimented us on the politeness, sporting behaviour, and respect shown for the dressing room by our team.
I am proud to be associated with these fine young people.
