After a very even first quarter, Stockport dominated possession and territory until the last 10 minutes, when they showed real character to hold out against some very determined pressure by the home side.

With 5 tries for Stockport and 6 for Manchester it was the goal kicking of Stockport 10 Liam McGovern that made the difference on the scoreboard as Stockport finished 42-34 winners.
