Northwich Senior Colts began their new season in the Halbro Colts Division D league with a trip north to Clitheroe RUFC. New coaches Richard Dale and Kyle Lindsay who have taken charge this season feel the team is more than capable of winning the league.
The team travelled up to Clitheroe with only 13 as a couple are carrying injuries from Saturday and a couple are still on holiday. Tom Husband opened the scoring for Northwich 10 mins in with Harry Naylor kicking the extra 2, however Clitheroe would soon reply with a try and conversion the level the game. Once again Tom Husband used his pace to score another try in the right corner but the conversion wasn’t successful. The 3rd try came from Kyle Clark who made his senior debut the day before giving Northwich the Half-time lead at 19-14.
The second half had the best try of the game from Kyle Clark. With 10 mins left, down to 12 men and 7 points down Kyle collected the ball in his own 22, found a gap to go through the chipped the full back to score in the corner. However the kick was just wide of the post. The final try came from Oliver Kenny who was put through a gap from scrum half Harry Naylor 10 yards outs. Naylor then converted to make it 31-26 and seal their first win of the season.
