Northwich Mini & Juniors Bowling Night
Not to be stopped by the Beast from the East
With all fixtures at Moss Farm cancelled due freezing conditions, ice, snow and high winds, the Northwich Mini & Junior section were not going to let the second visit this season of the Beast from the East ruin their weekend's fun. After a quick show of hands it was agreed that the frozen rugby pitches be temporarily replaced by an evening of ten pin bowling.
With other thirty players, parents, and siblings arriving at Cheshire Oaks an exciting and enjoyable evening was had by all where the usual rucks, mauls and scrums were temporarily replaced with strikes and spares. After two close games, it soon became clear that the Northwich Mini & Junior section's players were far more adept at bowling than the parents who at times were trying to re-kindle their form not seen since their youth.
With many more exciting social events planned by the M&J section for the remainder of the season and summer months, it is clear that there is much more to being part of a club such as Northwich RUFC than just the rugby.
