Ashley Goldsmith top scores with 31* and Harry Collier carries on his form with the bat but GKN too strong for Woodies.

With Gavin Paddock unavailable, Jeff Barrett took charge of the Woodies for the first time this season and made a good start at the toss, electing to bat first. Again, the Northwood openers got off to a steady start but the run rate was lower than what they would have hoped for. Harry Collier, however, attacked the GKN bowlers and retired for the 4th time this season, bringing up his 200th run of the campaign. Jeff Barrett was then run out for 7, before Ashley Goldsmith, playing after 3 months out due to injury, joined Collier in the hut, retiring on 28. Mark Tuckwell took an aggressive approach and was hitting some important runs towards the end of the innings but Ciaran Saltzer was caught for 3 and Matt McCallum was unluckily run out for 0. Harry Collier then returned to the crease but was caught and bowled for a well made 30 before Mark Tuckwell was bowled on the last ball for 19, Ashley Goldsmith left on 31 not out and Northwood finishing on 101-5, GKN bowling only 11 extras. GKN then got off to a good start with the bat and were 44-0 after just 4 overs. Ashley Goldsmith got a much needed breakthrough, the catch coming from Mark Tuckwell on the second attempt. However, only a couple more chances were made and no more wickets fell, with GKN crossing the line with 9 balls remaining, ending on 103-1 from 10.3 overs, Goldsmith finishing with 1-27. The Woodies play GKN II in the final game of the season next Sunday at 7pm.
