Norton's first ever Charity Day proves a hit

On Sunday the club held its charity day to support this years chosen charity Thurlton Pre School and strengthen our link with the local community.

On a glorious day the event was well supported by players and supporters alike whom enjoyed the match and activities on show.

For adults there was the charity game consisting of a club side from all 3 teams v a sponsors team put together by Holmes Builders consisting a few Norton players. The match ended 9-5 in favour of Norton.

Whilst the match was going on the children enjoyed the bouncy castle, target soccer, space shooter and arts and crafts stall provided by the pre-school.

Post match refreshments were then held at the Queens Head Thurlton where the raffle was conducted with all prizes kindly donated by local businesses.

The day was a huge success and surpassed all expectations and as a result the club will be donating £400 to the Pre School. This was boosted further by the £200 donated by the Queens Head.

We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the day but particular thanks to Diane Hoadley for sourcing the raffle prizes and manning the tea hut, Garry Holmes for organising a side and selling a tremendous amount of raffle tickets, Mark and Claire Kinzel for the hospitality in the Queens Head, Julian Walker for refereeing the match, all of the volunteers who helped organise the day and finally all of the players and supporters whom attended.
