FEED THE YEN! 90th minute winner!!
Andrew Eastaugh came on with the scores at nil nil with 18 minutes to play, and scored an important winner.
The New Croft pitch was heavy, very heavy in places an almost unplayable in others . Playing on the deck was almost impossible and the aerial route was the only way to move the ball with some certainty. Needless to say it was a battle in the mud, the first half was a pretty dire affair, the second half wasn't much better, this report was going to read NOTHING TO REPORT.
On 72 minutes Andrew [ Yenny ] Eastaugh came on as Damien Hiltons last throw of the dice. The ref had treated the game with a soft touch, if the bad tackles had been punished he'd have had a book full of yellows and reds but the pitch did require a bit of give and take from the man in black. On the 90th minute the ref gave a free kick for a two footed challenge on the half way line to the Planters the locals saw nothing in the tackle no surprise there.
The free kick was pumped forward into the Rovers box and Yenny rose out of the mud and met the ball with a firm header beating the keeper well. 1 - 0 Planters. That's Andys' second goal this season but it could prove one of the most important, all our closest rivals had good wins too. That ones for Granddad Andy!
Tuesday we welcome Gorleston to Plantation Park in the league, a pre-cursor for the semi final clash later this month in the Norfolk Senior Cup, Dereham and Kings Lynn reserves compete in the other semi after Kings Lynn dumped the holders Wroxham out.
