Norwich United were denied all three points in a hard fought game when Joe White scored in the third minute of stoppage time.
The Planters had twice led through Adam Hipperson in a game played out in heavy rain at Ram Meadow.
Although the Planters started on the back foot with some resolute defending it was the visitors who had the first good chance Hafeez Sanusi flicking on and Tim Henery hitting his first time half volley wide.
With just 12 minutes on the clock the Planters were in front, Sanusi winning another header, this time his flick fell in the path of Hipperson who strode on to hit a delightful shot past Louis Tibbles from 25 yards.
The hosts had the ball in the Planters net through Tevan Allen but the flag was already up for offside.
Bury were putting the Planters under a lot of pressure and a Bradley Barber central free kick hit the wall and flicked up onto Andy Wilton's crossbar.
Steve Eastaugh's men were standing strong at the back and broke well, one move seeing Hipperson and Matt Brown build down the left but the latter hit wide from distance.
After a Planters set piece had broken down a cross from the right found Andy Eastaugh at the far post, he headed down into the path of Jamie Speller who fired wide.
Bury were still aiming to pile on the pressure but against some strong defending they could only shoot from distance and John Kennedy, Allen and Ryan Jolland all fired well off target.
The Planters were first to show after the break, a free kick on the right was only half cleared and the ball fell to Henry Pollock and his shot was deflected wide for a corner.
Bury equalised ten minutes after the break when Jolland was given time and space on the edge of the area and fired home off the inside of the post.
Two crosses caused the Planters problems, firstly Allen flashed across the face of goal and then a minute later Jolland's ball in was well dealt with by Adam Probert facing his own goal.
A 73rd minute break from the Planters saw Tim Henery felled by Joe White as he dribbled into the area and the referee pointed to the spot. Henery picked himself up to take the kick but Tibbles did well diving to save, however Hipperson was first to react and tucked it past the keeper to restore the lead.
Bury were looking for the equaliser and Kyran Clements headed over from close range form a Cemal Ramadan free kick.
With the Planters looking to run the clock down Bury had one last break and forced a corner, from David Cooper's flag kick to the near post White managed to squeeze his header home.
