Diggens hat trick sinks Black Dogs
Metcalf also on scoresheet as young Planters keep clean sheet
George Diggens followed up his five goal salvo against AFC Royals with a hat trick as the young Planters recorded their second succesive victory against Bungay Town.
Diggens fired United into the lead in the fourth minute latching on to a half clearance on the left to strike his shot firmly inside the far post.
Diggens turned provider in the 15th minute, passing inside to Henry Metcalf who calmly swept his shot beyond the keeper.
Metcalf returned the favour eight minutes after the break unselfishly sliding a pass into Diggens who shot home for his second and the Planters third.
Bungay fielded a young side, and to give them credit they kept fighting, but were thankful to goalkeeper Harvey Harris who produced some fine saves to keep the score down.
Diggens wasn't to be denied his hat trick however, and when he was brought down in the box in injury time he stepped up to net from the spot.
