U21s triumph in West Norfolk
Stewart, Will and Jackson on scoresheet
The U21s recorded a well deserved second victory at the Memorial Field.
Nathan Stewart put the Planters ahead after just seven minutes getting his head to Billy Johnson's long ball forward and heading it over the advancing Downham keeper Joe Clements and into the net.
Lee Will made it two half way through the first half latching onto a defence splitting through ball and calmly slotting past Clements.
Stewart and Liam Jackson both saw shots come back off the woodwork before the hosts were reduced to ten men in the 58th minute. Alex Bailey, who had already been booked, was shown a second yellow for diving.
The ten men were still showing spirit and they reduced the arrears in the 65th minute when a corner wasn't cleared and Jonno Sykes headed home.
Stewart was denied by the woodwork for a second time before the Planters re-established their two goal advantage in the 72nd minute. Clements brought down Jackson in the area and the striker picked himself up to net from the spot.
