10 MEN 2NDS DROP TWO POINTS
Great Preston 4 - Nostell 4
Nostell started there West Yorkshire league Division 2 campaign with a disappointing 4-4 draw against Great Preston.
Nostell will know it was a game they should have won comfortably on a difficult pitch however poor defending and sloppiness in front of goal proved to be welfares undoing.
Indiscipline and having to play the last hour with 10 men also didn't do the Nostell side any favours.
In a see saw game that saw Nostell go behind early on, then go in front from goals from Ben Beaumont and Dean Normington with 25 minutes on the clock.
The destruct button was then pressed and Nostell found themselves down to 10 men and soon 3-2 down.
Some home truths were said at half time and in fairness despite the numerical disadvantage Nostell were the better side after the break, a tactical change and introduction of fresh legs paid dividends as man of the match Dean Normington and sub Warren Redford fired Nostell back into the lead with 10 minutes remaining.
However in a rare attack Great Preston somehow clawed themselves level late on and the points were shared.
A learning curve for the welfare but they will improve with games that's for sure.
