TERRIBLE FIRST HALF COSTS NOSTELL 2NDS
Rawdon old boys 7 - Nostell 2
Rawdon 7-2 Nostell
Without doubt the best side Nostell have played so far and Rawdon to be fair will surely be in the hunt to win the division 2 title.
However Nostell once again started poorly and conceding a goal in the 3rd minute highlighting the welfare's soft side. This is something that HAS to improve quickly.
Despite the setback Nostell soon were on level terms when Nostells best player on the day Jordan Berry flicked a header on for Dean Normington to coolly slot home and all this and barely 10 minutes had been played.
What happened next is hard to describe the Nostell self destruct button was pressed for the umpteenth time this season and the quality of the Rawdon forwards soon had the welfare reeling and in the blink of an eyelid they found themselves 4-1 down and facing a proper drubbing.
Mitchell Pearson pulled a goal back for Nostell with a tap in before Rawdon added a fifth and all before the half time whistle had blown.
Crazily this was a game Nostell were still in but quite easily a game they could take an embarrassing beating.
When the home side scored a 6th straight from the restart the latter appeared likely.
Nostell despite being under the cosh never let their heads drop and the 2nd half was keenly contested.Rawdon did find the net on 1 more occasion to emphasise the difference between the sides.
But Nostell certainly gained a bit of respect with a competitive 2nd half performance.
A game to move on from quickly from a Nostell point of view.
The players will now know the season ahead is going to be challenging hopefully we will see an improvement soon.
