This tournament saw us travel to derby countys ground pride park to play on the first team pitch. we could have made our way by boat it was raining that bad but on arriving at this impressive stadium we made our way in through the players enterence and into the first team dressing room, after a quick change into their kits and team a talk the lads all lined up in the tunnel and came out onto the pitch to an applauding crowd of spectators.
We started warming up in one of the goal areas and ethan robinson got to feel what it was like to be in a professional full size goal.
we had 3 teams in our group and our first game saw us win with a goal for jordan forrest-holden,and ethan cousins scoring in his first ever competative game.our next 2 games were not so good .but because we had won a game we made it through to 1/4 finals,
after a long wet cold day we played our 1/4 final and with some impressive goal keeping from stand in keeper reece grant, cameron greenhough managed to sneek a winner near the end.
We had now reached the the semi-final and would face a team we had played earlier, the lads by know were soaked to the skin and there was a harsh cold wind but they got stuck in and were lucky not to score first.,but our opposition moved up a gear and outplayed us scoring 4 quick goals our only goal in this game was camerons which he scored from kick off.we took some
consalation that we eventually lost to the tournament winners but i know the lads were bitterly dissapointed not to win as i was.
CANT BELIEVE HOW BAD THE WEATHER WAS. BUT PROUD OF ALL OF YOU FOR HOW YOU BEHAVED THROUGH OUT THE DAY AND HOW YOU ALL HELPED EACH OTHER OUT BY PLAYING IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS TO GIVE OTHERS A CHANCE.HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE THE START OF MANY SEMI FINALS THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER TOURNAMENTS AND WOULD IMAGINE YOU WILL ALL GET TO A FEW FINALS AND WIN THE TROPHY YOU ALL DESERVE FOR HOW WELL YOU HAVE PLAYED THIS SEASON.
