Poachers hit Holwell for 5 again

Oadby hit Holwell for 5 for the second time this season, to complete a double over their Leicestershire rivals.

The game was fairly tight in the opening exchanges, and it was indeed Howell who squandered the first clear cut chance after the striker was clean through only for Shilliam to pull off a great double save.

Oadby responded and a deflected shot cannoned in for Jermaine Gordon to open the scoring on 33 minutes giving Oadby a deserved lead. Cragg in the Howell goal was by far the busiest of the two keepers, and did well to deny Moore and Stevenson from extending that lead.

1-0 Half Time. Oadby came out a in far better mood, settling down after a couple of minutes for Reeves to score to put and end to his mini drought to put the home side 2 up on 49 minutes. The next 35 minutes the Poachers prodcued some the best football of the season as Holwell struggled to get any possesion, Gordon crashed home a header adding his second on 58 minutes and Jon Stevenson (72) added to his tally driving home the 4th. Jermaine Gordon hat-trick was completed on 90 minutes with a swivel and unstoppable shot.

This was well worth any fans money, and to add insult to injury Holwell skipper was sent off for dissent after a frustrating afternoon for the visitors.

Final score 5-0.
