Hill brace helps Oaks earn first win
Milford & Witley 1 – 3 Oakwood Ladies
Oakwood Ladies dominated Milford and Whitney to produce a stunning away performance and get their first win on the season on Saturday.
The Oaks’ have been building up to this win over the last few weeks with several new signings starting to settle into the team. Management team Andy Parsons and Chris Minn have been busy building a squad to compete in division 1, and this game was proof that it was all coming together.
From the outset the away side dominated possession, creating several chances through good attacking play. Up against a solid defence and hard-working team, Andy Parson’s young team were patient despite being the better side and went into the break 0-0.
The second half saw the Oaks’ step up with three goals in 11 minutes. Making her first full senior debut, 16-year-old prospect Megan Hoare broke the deadlock on 62 minutes after a perfectly weighted pass from Tayla Hill.
Oakwood doubled their lead seven minutes later on 69 minutes when Hill turned from provider to goal scorer. Heading in from a perfect cross Hill gave her side a comfortable lead putting them in touching distance of victory.
The points were sealed on 73 minutes with goal number three. Former Hawth Gymnast and Crawley Athletic Club pole vaulter, Stephanie Minn, intercepted play in the middle of the park before playing a through ball for Tayla Hill who completed her brace.
It was a dominant performance from Oakwood Ladies’ who now head into their home games against xx next week with confidence.
